TMDL Management System Documents available for review and comment

The Water Board and Nevada Division of Environmental Protection are happy to release the Draft 2016 Findings and Recommendations Memo for review and feedback. This document is an integral part of the annual Lake Tahoe TMDL Management System process that provides a summary of research, monitoring and other findings relevant to the TMDL program and, if appropriate, describes recommendations for program change.

The 2016 memo focusses on lessons learned during Lake Clarity Crediting Program implementation efforts over the past year and proposes a number of recommendations to address identified concerns. The document also suggests minor changes to urban storm water monitoring requirements and an assessment of lake-wide monitoring approaches. There was no new information regarding Non-Urban program implementation.

The TMDL Management Agencies are simultaneously releasing a draft of the 2017 TMDL Annual Strategy. This brief document broadly frames program objectives and actions for the coming year.

Public comment is welcome prior to finalizing these two important products. The documents may be accessed from the TMDL Management Systems Documents page. Comments should be submitted using the stakeholder feedback form no later than November 30, 2016.
