Initial Round of Conservation Credit Development Projects Approved by Sagebrush Ecosystem Council

At the April 7th meeting of the Sagebrush Ecosystem Council (SEC), Council members unanimously approved five credit development conservation projects recommended by the Sagebrush Ecosystem Technical Team (SETT) for funding and summarized in the staff report.  This is the first of two rounds of funding that will be available for project implementation in 2016 and 2017. The five projects were selected from the 21 letters of interest received, based on meeting criteria established for funding eligibility, such as protecting or enhancing areas of priority sage-grouse habitat, and maximizing the credits generated for the funding amount requested. On-the-ground assessments for the selected projects using the Habitat Quantification Tool (HQT) will begin this spring/summer.
