Key to the continual improvement of the Nevada Conservation Credit System (Credit System) is the adoption of well-supported improvements to the Credit System. Such improvements ensure Credit System policies, procedures, and tools continue to support achievement of the Credit System’s goal - for impacts to greater sage-grouse habitats from anthropogenic disturbances to be offset through restoration, enhancement, and protection that results in a net benefit for sage-grouse habitats in the State of Nevada.
Well-supported improvements depend on a process that identifies findings from the operation of the Credit System and new science, and produces well-vetted recommendations to improve the Credit System.
Over the winter, the Sagebrush Ecosystem Technical Team drafted the Credit System’s 2017-2018 Findings & Improvement Recommendations Report, which documents the seven 2017-2018 improvements to the Credit System that the Sagebrush Ecosystem Council (SEC) reviewed and adopted at the December 15, 2017 and February 8th, SEC 2018 meetings. The report has recently been finalized and is now avalilable through the link above.
